Caring for your Child

The EYFS is a comprehensive statutory framework that sets the standard for the learning, development and care of children from birth to five.

Les Enfants take an individual approach to planning for the development of each child and believe strongly that children learn best when they learn through play in a secure, warm and stimulating environment. The first five years are a very important stage in any child's life, as it helps your child in preparation for school and to develop independent, life long learning skills. We ensure that each child's early years experience is happy, active, exciting and fun, whilst being supported by a dedicated, experienced and highly qualified team.

Children are encouraged to explore and be curious and the play based curriculum is inspired by the National Early Years Framework (EYFS) aiming to help all children feel safe; adopt healthy lifestyles; achieve and enjoy; make a positive contribution and develop skills for the future.

Children are happy and secure and they enjoy accessing a learning environment that provides fun, enjoyable experiences which meet their individual needs."

Ofsted Report, Dewsbury Nursery

Key Person System

The nursery operates a "key person system", where each child is assigned a key worker who is responsible for that child during their time with us. The child's key person and parents ensure that they develop to their full potential by working as a team to identify their starting point and observe and discuss their development on a daily basis. With this system in place it ensures that the parents have a member of staff whom they can approach should they need to discuss any concerns they may have.

Links with Local Schools

Les Entants have developed important links with local Nursery and Primary Schools to which the children in our nurseries will move to for the next stage in their education. Trial visits are made to your child's selected school along with their key worker to ensure a smooth transition from nursery to school is achieved, making the whole experience as stress free as possible.

Settling in visits.

We are pleased to offer the opportunity for new children and their carers to attend for short sessions at no charge, before the paid attendance commences. The number and length of these sessions to be decided by discussion between the nursery manager and the carer.

Should your child develop a doubtful rash, sore throat, discharge from eyes or ears, vomiting or diarrhoea, they should be kept at home until a doctor has confirmed that the symptoms have disappeared. Should a child become sick at nursery every effort will be made to contact the parents to advise them of the situation. Only in extreme cases will we use the emergency telephone number. Although we understand the pressures and stresses on working parents, your child's well being will have first priority at all times.

The nursery has a stringent medication policy approved by OFSTED which we are required to follow, however, we are happy to give your child medication upon the completion of a medication form. For your peace of mind medicines are only administered to children in our care by a senior member of staff with a second member of staff in attendance, both signing the medication form.

Collection of Children

The Directors and staff place a high emphasis on the safety and security of the children in our care. Should you wish your child to be collected by someone other than the person who normally collects your child please arrange this in advance with the nursery staff. CHILDREN WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO LEAVE THE NURSERY UNLESS STAFF ARE COMPLETELY CONFIDENT OF THE IDENTIFICATION OF THOSE WHO COLLECT THEM.
